The Hide Tags parameter in an article's Page Properties

The ability to hide specified Tags on a News Article has been expanded to support the use of the parameter in a section's _props.pcf or a hide-tags directory variable.

In the event that the hide-tags setting is specified in multiple locations that apply to the same file, the closest applicable specification applies. The values are not combined in any way. The article's property takes precedence over the _props.pcf, which takes precedence over a directory variable.

Since the use of this parameter only applies to News Articles, it is not being added to the default parameters of the _props.pcf. However, you can copy the parameter from a new article and paste it into the file to get it working (make sure the value of the name attribute of the parameter is hide-tags).

As part of this update, to reduce confusion with other recently-added features, the parameter for this functionality has been renamed from exclude-tags to hide-tags. For now, both are supported (in the article's PCF, only), but eventually we'll track down all of the articles using the older parameter and update them, then remove support for the older parameter name.

No Action Required

The updated field will automatically be included on all News Articles created after 2 this afternoon. You may choose to update any articles you've created since November 2 to rename the exclude-tags parameter to hide-tags, but if not, this will be done for you at some point in the future.
